"Positive" Early Feedback on Gaslight stop signs

GASLIGHT VILLAGE STOP SIGNS. The stop sign trial in Gaslight Village continues. The large temporary stop-signs in the center of Wealthy Street, in place since early July, were intended to get the attention of all drivers because the four-way stops were a new item. Now that the majority of drivers have seen the signs multiple times, the duplicate signs have been removed to allow the permanent stop signs on the sides of the street to control traffic.

Traffic patterns will be studied in October after the final adjustment period, and the results submitted to the Traffic Commission and City Commission for a final determination on whether to keep the signs in place.

Early feedback has been very positive with the majority of citizens approving of the stop signs. If you have not yet given your thoughts on the signs, questions or comments can be directed to City Manager Brian Donovan at bdonovan@eastgr.org.
