Waterfront Park Nearing Completion

The park is starting to take shape as we near the completion of the project. The floating boardwalk has been installed and is open to the public for use. Just a reminder the floating boardwalk is for pedestrian traffic only (no bikes, skateboards, inline skates, scooters, etc…) due to the narrow walkway and railings. The floating boardwalk offers great views of Reeds Lake and wonderful fishing opportunities. The far end of the floating boardwalk has benches, fishing pole holders and tackle box stands for your use.

Over the next four weeks two shade shelters and two boardwalk / observation decks will be installed providing additional view of the lake and seating opportunities. If you are interested in purchasing a bench or table set in the park please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 949-1750. Over half of the benches have been sold to date.

The pathways throughout the park are substantially complete and have been complimented with the installation of benches, trash receptacles, bike racks and interpretive kiosks. The parking lot is nearly complete and will be open for use in the next 2-3 weeks. We appreciate your patience during the construction process and we hope you enjoy the new addition to our park system. Help us take care of the park by leaving no trace (take out what you bring in) or using the provided trash receptacles. Dogs must be on a leash at all times and PLEASE pick up after your dog.
