East Grand Rapids resident Artist Ivan Jenson recently heard that his painting "Absolut Jenson" is now in the care of the Spritmuseum, the museum of spirits in Stockholm Sweden. Jenson was commissioned to create the painting for the famous Absolut Vodka Campaign. It was featured in Art News, Art In America, Interview, Connoisseur magazine and others. At the time, he created the large scale painting in New York City studio. It is now in the permanent collection of Spritmuseum, the museum of spirits in Stockholm Sweden, along with a series of Absolut paintings he created. When the ad came out, Jenson also painted an original designer bag bag which was featured as a full page collectors pull out in Interview magazine.
Jenson earned international acclaim when at age nine he produced his first sculpture that was used as a poster for the Museo Nacional de Costa Rica. At 15 he was drawn to the epicenter of the art world, New York City, where he began successfully creating and selling his bold, colorful paintings on the streets of SoHo and earned immediate praise and recognition from art critics and the public.   Jenson's art has sold at Christie‚Äôs, New York. His poems have appeared in Word Riot, Zygote in my Coffee, Camroc Press Review, Haggard and Halo, Poetry Super Highway, Mad Swirl, Underground Voices Magazine, Blazevox, and many other magazines, online and in print. Jenson is also a Contributing Editor for Commonline magazine. He has also authored two books, Dead Artist and psychological thriller Seeing Soriah.
