East Precinct reports Valentine’s Day home invasions

Thieves broke into several homes on Valentine’s Day in the East Metro area.  A suspect kicked in the service door and gained entry into a home in the 1500 block of Laraway Lake in Cascade Township.  Jewelry and a lap top were stolen.

The second break-in occurred in the 8600 block of Cascade Rd.   The suspect again kicked the door to gain entry and stole jewelry and a laptop.

There was also a home invasion in the 9600 block of 36th street.  In this case, the home owner was home and confronted the suspect after he broke into the home.  This home owner gave a description similar to a suspicious person that has been spotted near other home invasions.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Department describes the suspect as a black male in his 20's,  5'8" and 160 lbs.  He was driving an older passenger car ranging in description from silver to black.

Report any suspicious persons in your neighborhood and try to relay to dispatch as much information as possible.  Anyone with any information should contact the Kent County Sheriff’s department at 616-632-6357 or silent observer at 616 774-2345.
