Public Works Director Ken Feldt says Christmas tree, holiday wreath and tree limb collections are beign delayed, as city crews continue to work to clear streets of snow.

Feldt says public works employees are also busy fixing water service line leaks.  He says collection of all trees, wreaths and limbs may not be finished until the area begins to thaw out, since many items are now covered with snow and frozen in place.

EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—  In addition to Christmas tree recycling, the City of East Grand Rapids is offering a special tree limb pickup service in the wake of the recent ice and snow storms.

Now through Friday, Jan. 17, residents are asked to place their bare trees, holiday wreaths and tree limbs placed along the roadway during the normal yard waste pickup hours.  To find out when your yard waste is normally collected, call the city at (616) 940-4870 or visit the city’s website here.

All tree limbs must be six feet or less in length and not exceed 12 inches in diameter.
