    The award-winning January Series of Calvin College is back for its 24th year. From Wednesday, January 5, through Tuesday, January 25, 2011, Calvin College will continue a long tradition of bringing one of the nation's leading lecture and cultural arts series to west Michigan and abroad.

    The 2011 January Series features an impressive lineup of speakers, covering a wide range of today's hottest topics, among them social justice, environmental justice and the future of the U.S.

    Community Sendoff Saturday for Football Team

    EAST GRAND RAPIDS - Community members are invited to attend a celebratory sendoff for the high school football team.  The Pioneers will head for Ford Field in Detroit Saturday, hoping to return with a fifth consecutive state championship trophy in hand.  The team will depart from outside Memorial Field on Wealthy Street at 1:45 PM, with the celebration at Gerken Plaza starting at 1 PM.  Fans are urged to line Wealthy Street and Lake Drive to wave as the busses pass by.  The team will stop to practice at MSU's indoor practice facility on their way to Detroit.

    Kids Dance Party Monday

    Kids Dance Party at the Library. Monday, November 22, 2010. 10:00 am - 11:30 am. Join us for pure dancing fun as we rock out to tons of kid-friendly music! Burn off a little energy, have a lot of fun and share a special time with your child. Plenty of noise makers and other props provided.  Come and go as you please. For families with kids 6 and under.

    EGRHS presentation of Three Musketeers starts tonight

    The East Grand Rapids High School presentation of the classic Alexandre Dumas tale, Three Musketeers, begins this evening at the Performing Arts Center.

    EGRHS commissioned local playwright, Max Bush, to adapt and write this version of the classic novel which closely follows the original to it's dramatic conclusion.

    The play can be seen Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 pm.

    EGR volleyball to face Grand Rapids Christian in Allendale tonight

    The Pioneer volleyball team has advanced to the regional finals for the first time since 2004. The match between East Grand Rapids and Grand Rapids Christian will take place this evening at 6:30 at Allendale High School.
