The City’s annual street resurfacing program is underway, but behind the schedule originally anticipated. The status of work is listed for each street below:

  • Albert Drive (Gorton to Andover): Complete.
  • Groton Road (Richards to Boston): Complete.
  • Cambridge Blvd. (Sherman to Franklin): Complete.
  • Pontiac Road (city limits to east end): Substantially complete.
  • Gladstone Ave. (Franklin to Alexander): Complete.
  • Mackinaw Road (west city limits to Gladstone): Complete.
  • El Centro Blvd. (Cascade to Reeds Lake Blvd.): Cold milling surface completed, curb repair currently underway. Paving scheduled for Monday August 21st
  • Rexford Drive (Cascade to Reeds Lake Blvd.): Cold milling surface and curb repair completed. Paving scheduled for Friday August 19th.
  • Reeds Lake Blvd Cutoff (Reeds Lake Blvd. to Pioneer Club Rd): Cold milling surface completed. Concrete work and paving scheduled for week of August 21st.
  • Hall Street (Lake Drive to Bonnell) Watermain Replacement Project. Approximately half of the new watermain has been placed. Placement of the remainder of the new main is expected to be completed the week of August 21st. The route of the new main was required to shift from side to side of the roadway in order maintain State mandated distances from existing sewers.
  • Following placement of the watermain, testing and chlorination of the new main will take approximately a week to complete. Thereafter, side street watermains and water services will be connected to the new main. These will take approximately two weeks to complete. After the new watermain is in service, the old watermain will be abandoned and the street restoration can begin. The street restoration is expected to take two weeks to complete. The project is schedule to be completed on or before October 1.
