The EGR Board of Review will meet on Tuesday, December 10th at 4:00 pm for the purpose of correcting clerical errors and mutual mistakes of fact in the 2013 and 2012 assessment rolls as provided for under MCLA 211.53(b). The board may also consider 2010 through 2013 homestead exemptions where no previous affidavit was filed and denied. For more information, contact the Assessor's Office at 940-4818.

EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- Fall leaf pickup begins October 7.

Beginning Monday, October 7, City crews will start pickup of loose leaf piles along the edge of the roadway. Residents may rake leaves onto the edge of the street for pickup. The regular weekly collection route will be maintained as long as possible, but as the volume of leaves increases, your pick up day may be delayed.

Spring Parade of Homes sees record traffic

The Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids says the 2013 Spring Parade of Homes is seeing record traffic.

The organization says more than 50,000 people have toured homes so far.  The Spring Parade of Homes runs through June 8.  Remodeled homes will be open for touring June 7 and June 8 from 1 p.m.

EGR and Forest Hills High Schoolers Battling for Charity

EGR and Forest Hills High Schoolers Battling for Charity

Students from East Grand Rapids and Forest Hills Central high schools are teaming to hold a Battle of the Bands benefit concert. The concert is for Habitat for Humanity of Kent County’s Women Build program.

Eight East Grand Rapids High School student bands and two teacher bands will compete for the top prize: a paid gig at the EGR Valentine’s Dance and a training session with professional musician Brian Vander Ark.

Concert-goers will vote for their favorite band with donations. The band with the most amount of money at the end of the night will be named Battle of the Bands champion.

Proceeds from ticket sales, votes and T-shirts will go to Habitat’s Women Build program. Tickets are $4 each and available at the door.

Tax Bills Coming

SUMMER PROPERTY TAX BILLS will be mailed out on July 1st, and are due without penalty by Monday, August 15th.
