GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- Some folks are willing to plop down fat bags of cash for airfare, accommodations, and taxis just to indulge in the one meal believed to be the authentic cuisine of a far-off culture.

Grabbin' A Bite Reviews Gaia Cafe

Grabbin' A Bite Reviews Gaia Cafe

Once again Mike and I are off the beaten path, but this time we are in the city of Grand Rapids. Eastown is well known to locals but if you are a visitor, you will have to ask where to find it or use a GPS. ( It is not in the " GR downtown area.")  It is there you will find Gaia Cafe, the restaurant that we visited this time.

My daughter has been encouraging me to try it out for quite some time, and we finally had the opportunity to go with them.

Eastown has been described as the Greenwich Village of Grand Rapids. A little bohemian, quirky, and sometimes just strange, but a fun place to be and full of character.

Gaia, a vegetarian/ vegan restaurant is a perfect fit for the area.  It reminds me of the song Alice's Restaurant, because of the '60s hippy look and atmosphere.
